TINA EDWARDS
Painter of things
About the artist
Tina studied Graphic Design and Illustration at St Martin’s School of Art and was a teacher for 37 years, teaching Art and Design to years 7-13.
Now retired she paints, using watercolour, gouache and acrylic on cardboard, paper or canvas, sometimes applying textures with found objects, such as sand and netting; this effect is very exciting and creates interest within the painting.
Her work is always bold, colourful with textures and high contrast, focusing on form of the object created by light and shade. Animals, birds, flowers and manmade objects feature mostly in her works that vary in size from A4 to A1 and bigger.
Tina also paints “Personal Posters”. These are commissioned and bespoke pieces. Usually A2, she works from a given list of objects to create a composition, reflecting the person’s likes and interests. These are truly individual and exciting, perfect for a special gift.
As her name suggests, she enjoys painting man made or natural “things”, celebrating the object in its simplicity and is happy to be commissioned.
Please feel free to contact her for further information and prices via her website.
